Nifty Nasi Goreng Kampung

Saw a Facebook post online about fried rice and decided to cook some for the family! This is a Malaysian styled fried rice called Nasi Goreng Kampung. It is spicy and packed full of flavour! The recipe I used was from the SAYS Youtube channel



Here's the recipe (watch the video for a step by step tutorial)!

- 1 big red onion

- 3 garlic cloves

- 6 cili padi (bird's eye chilli)

- 2 spoons of ikan bilis (dried anchovies)

- amount of meat you want

- kangkung/any sort of vegetable you prefer

- 1-2 portion of rice



It turned out really well and is best garnished with extra fried ikan bilis!



What I love about this recipe is how simple and flexible it is! You can replace the proteins with any meat you like (I used Chinese sausage) or none at all if you prefer more vegetables. You can also adjust the number or chillies to your palette, the flavour is mostly from the anchovies which you will be blending into a paste. Let me know your take on this classic dish!
